Brooklyn Unpacking injection offers

A little context before a care decision.

A Brooklyn care briefing

Look up the person who would actually assess you

A service name is not enough for this check. Ask for the clinician’s full name, professional title and New York licence number, then compare the record with the offer.

Use the state’s own record

As of September 28, 2026, New York’s Office of the Professions offered a free search for checking professional licences. It covered doctors, physician assistants, nurses and pharmacists. [a]

  • Choose the profession that matches the person’s title.
  • Match the full name and any licence details you were given.
  • Read whether the person is allowed to practise now; a matching name is only the beginning of the check.
  • Ask the service to explain anything that does not match.

For a doctor or physician assistant, check another record too

For a doctor or physician assistant, check the separate conduct record kept by New York’s Department of Health. These checking details were confirmed on September 28, 2026. [b]

Discipline means official action about professional conduct. The licence search is not the whole conduct check for these professions.

  • Use the conduct page linked in the notes below.
  • Read the action itself if a matching record appears.
  • Keep a note of which person and profession you checked.

What a matching record leaves unanswered

A public record with no disciplinary action is not a rating of how good a clinician is. [c]

  • Who will hear my questions after the visit?
  • What experience do you have with the condition being discussed?
  • How would a change in my care be reviewed?
